In order to early redress the expatriates complaints pertaining to Federal Government agencies, the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab has developed close liaison with the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Government of Pakistan. The enhanced cooperation between these institutions is aimed at providing better service-delivery to the Pakistanis living abroad. These views were expressed by Vice Chairperson OPC, Punjab Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzal Bhatti while addressing the officers of OPF. MD OPF Habib ur Rehman Gillani, DG OPC Javed Iqbal Bukhari and Director Legal, Raja Zubair also attended the meeting. Shaheen Khalid Butt and Afzal Bhatti told that joint collaboration of OPC and OPF has helped solve the issues faced by the Overseas Pakistanis relating to Federal Government institutions. They told that on the request of OPC Punjab, several Federal Government institutions have nominated their focal persons to coordinate with the OPC. Vice Chairman and Commissioner further told that the OPC, Punjab is striving for the welfare of Overseas Pakistanis and, so far, half of the received complaints have been settled. MD OPF Habib ur Rehman Gillani informed that all complaints received from OPC are being treated on priority basis. He said that cooperation between OPC and OPF has yielded positive results regarding solution of the grievances of Overseas Pakistanis. Certain proposals to further fine tune the resolution mechanism of the complaints of Overseas Pakistanis came under discussion during the meeting.
