Role of District administration and police pivotal to resolve expatriates issues

     Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti has said that collective efforts are imperative to resolve issues of Overseas Pakistanis and role of district administration and Police is pivotal in this regard. He was presiding over a meeting to review the resolution mechanism of complaints of expatriate Pakistanis of Multan Division. Commissioner Multan Division, Bilal Ahmad Butt, DG OPC, Syed javed Iqbal Bokhari, Additional DG OPC, DIG Agha Yousaf and other relevant officer attended the meeting. Afzaal Bhatti said that by virtue of vibrant input of field officers at Division and District level, complaints of Overseas Pakistanis can be addressed early. He further directed that complaints of Overseas Pakistanis be decided on purely merit basis and meetings of District Overseas Pakistanis Committees (DOPCs) be held regularly. On this occasion Afzaal Bhatti appreciated the efforts of field officers of Multan Division in resolution of the issues of Overseas Pakistanis. DG OPC, Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari informed the meeting that in pursuance of the directions of Chief Justice Lahore High Court, designated Courts have been established to deal with the cases of Overseas Pakistanis at District level. Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Butt said that complaints of Overseas Pakistanis are being treated on priority basis and a comprehensive policy is being pursued in this regard.Certain complaints of Overseas Pakistanis also came under discussion during the meeting and Commissioner OPC and Commissioner Multan Division issued necessary instructions to resolve these complaints. Civil and police officers of Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran and Chairpersons of DOPCs also attended the meeting.
